Where can you take IELTS in Malawi?

We are pleased to announce that from 21 June 2026, all IELTS tests will be delivered on computer, providing a faster, more efficient and streamlined testing experience. IELTS on computer also offers significant benefits to test takers at no additional cost:
•Faster results: Receive your results in under 5 days; typically, 1-2 days
•Faster booking: Book your test up to 48 hours before test day
•More test dates: Access more frequent test dates
•One Skill Retake: Only available with IELTS on computer, you can retake just one part of test – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking

We offer a range of convenient test dates in two official IELTS test centre locations across Malawi. You can choose to take your IELTS on a computer. You will need to come to a test centre to sit your test. Find out more.

Test schedule / timings

Your Listening, Reading, and Writing sections of the test will be completed on the same day with no break in between. During the pandemic, we are running tests in the morning and in the afternoon. All sessions allow social distancing. Morning sessions are usually between 9.00 and 12.00. Afternoon sessions are usually between 13.00 and 16.00.

Choose your Speaking test slot

You can choose your Speaking test slot when you take IELTS on a computer. If we need to change your slot due to the pandemic, we will notify you by email or phone.

Looking to work, study, or live in the UK?

If you need a visa for working or studying in the UK, then in some cases you may need to take IELTS for UK Visas and Immigration or IELTS for UKVI Life Skills.
